Round 4 vs Scarborough
The WCC Tigers continue to roar as they proved too strong for local rivals Scarborough at Millington Reserve in a feisty clash which saw two Scarborough players receive yellow cards. The previously undefeated Scarborough now joins Cowan in the logjam of teams behind Kalamunda. The total team effort by Cowan overwhelmed the home side as they could not match the intensity or gain any momentum. The midfielders had a key influence on the result as they were able to put their opponents under continuous pressure which often resulted in turnovers and ineffective forward thrusts. Paddy Upton-Davis and Patrick Brennan continued... -
Round 3 vs North Fremantle
West Coast Cowan expected strong competition against former A grade club North Fremantle and having lost the first two games in B grade the away side had a point to prove. However it was the Tigers who came out on top at City Beach Oval, West Coast Cowan 10.11 (71) def North Fremantle 7.10 (52). The first quarter was a struggle with Cowan taking a slight lead which turned into a four goal lead at the half. In the final term the rain came down and the stronger bodies of the away side made a surge but it was too late... -
Round 2 Vs Willetton
After enjoying success in all four grades in round one the West Coast Cowan Tigers were looking to make their mark on the competition with another win against a Willetton side that the league team beat twice in 2012. Every team wants to win the first home game of the season however the players were able to use the new clubrooms and facilities for the first time and wanted to christen them with a win. There was no lack of motivation yet there was a lack of skill and focus as a poor second quarter, where Willetton scored seven goals,... -
Round 1 vs Stirling
The first round of fixtures see the Tigers’ “B” League, Reserves and Colts teams take on Stirling FC at Richard Guefli Reserve, while our “E1″ team plays their first home game of the year at City Beach Oval against the club’s old nemesis, Coolbinia West Perth who WCC came up against (and beat!) to win the 2006 premiership. After a long, hot pre-season which Taylor “nandos” Smith and Rex Fleay clearly missed, we are looking forward to getting back on the park for a season which is full of promise, with senior coach, Marcus Ayres, returning to the helm, and... -
Intraclub Scratch Match
Saturday 6th April Start: 9:30am The game will consist of six periods of football where all grades (colts, league reserves, thirds) will combine to make two evenly matched teams. We can expect a free flowing contest as the players look to get one up on their teammates through quick skillful movement of the ball up and down the ground. This is the last chance opportunity for the players to show off their preseason form which has seen them defeat Whitfords, an A grade team, and suffer a narrow loss to Maddington another A grade team. Following the game West Coast...
